While the normal activity of the Staatsbibliothek (German National Library) Building 1 continues uninterrupted, the library has to be converted to one of the most modern of its kind in Europe. This project, commissioned by the National Office for Construction and Planning, is the first in a series of measures to be carried out in the capital. For instance, there are plans to convert the Staatsbibliothek facilities on Paul-Lincke-Ufer.

DU Diederichs, the company responsible for monitoring and project management, has contracted Koebcke to deliver part of the data management for the project and all the digital printing.

Koebcke will monitor the quality of all relevant information using the "Prins" online project documentation service. The main points of this will be: signalling newly received data, checking blueprints according to formal criteria and monitoring the distribution of newly printed blueprints.

Koebcke will integrate data management with digital printing, so that blueprints can be printed out and forwarded directly after the job has been received in the "Prins" blueprint server. Thus Koebcke will be able to make an important contribution to the correct documentation of the project.
